At EquiShui, our wellness programs are designed to aid individuals in self-care and  identifying genuine self-nourishing practises.​ Our services prove physical, emotional, mental and spiritual healing and an opportunity for peace and stillness. The landscape itself offers retreat from daily routine and allows for new imaginations ones one's place in the world.

Our signature equine meditations promise a yogic experience you can't find anywhere. No diagnosis is needed, just a desire to  find balance on the farm and make new friends.

We offer a wide range of wellness services which you can either experience as stand alone services during your visit to the farm or you can add to your custom tailored program visit.

FARM YOGA (TRAUMA INFORMED)

Come loosen up and reconnect with a farm yoga session! In a 60 minute class that includes an all levels asana practice, soak up the beauty and wisdom of nature and allow it to inspire you to slow and find a deeper breath, root down and connect to your inner rhythms.

In summer, classes are held out in the open where you get to interact with the farm goats and enjoy the sunlight filtering through the leaves. BYO yoga mat and water.

 

Class will begin with a brief centering, a collection of ourselves in breath and space, and will gently evolve into a flow of movement and meditation. In community, we’ll move, breathe and connect to our inner and outer landscapes. Please visit our events calendar for other ways to visit the farm this season!

EQUINE-ASSITED MEDITATION

Equine assisted meditation (EAM) is a kind of mindfulness meditation where participants are invited to cultivate an attitude of non-judgment and acceptance in an open and loving way.

​

Horses rely on their heightened sensitivity to attune to their surrounding and survive out in the wild. Horses make great meditation facilitators because of their innate ability to stay present moment by moment and remain fully embodied.

​

Meditation with horses may lower your heart rate, blood pressure and assist your overall mental, physical, emotional and physical health. Learn more about how horses are healers.

Small Plant

NOURISH & NURTURE

Discover how to feel safe and happy deep in your body as  we embark on a deeply experiential journey to connect to purpose, find your natural rhythms and glow from the inside out. This is an experiential workshop designed to teach individuals how to connect to their needs and it is geared towards people who have felt overwhelmed and exhausted in their personal and professional lives and are looking for renewal, rejuvenation and ways to restore balance in their lives.

Over 90 minutes, we will dance through an exquisite exploration of what it means to be nourished at the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual levels. Using breathwork, sacred song, movement and storytelling, we will attune and listen to our bodies, identifying practises we need to cultivate to release stress and nurture wellbeing.

You will b invited to learn how to:

​

  • Create balance by learning what nurtures and nourishes your whole self – mind body spirit.

  • Create your own practice of self-nourishment  and self-care rituals.

  • Identify your needs and the types of boundaries which nourish you.

  • Learn how to manage stress - short term / long term.

Dance Class

DANCE THERAPY (EQUINE ASSISTED)

Experience an effective and creative approach to psychotherapy in an equine assisted dance therapy session. Dance movement therapy (DMT) is a holistic approach to healing that uses movement to promote emotional, social, cognitive and physical integration of the individual with the the purpose of increasing wellbeing. 

 

This approach is based on the assertion that the mind, body and spirit are interconnected and so changes in the body reflects changes in the mind and vice versa. When dance therapy is integrated with the healing presence of horses, participants can experience stress reduction, disease prevention and mood management. In general, dance therapy promotes self-awareness, self-esteem, and a safe space for the expression of feelings.

Dance movement therapists approach individual, couple, family, and group sessions by observing and assessing both their clients and their own movements in relation to themselves and horses. Movement becomes more than exercise—it becomes a language. People in treatment communicate conscious and unconscious feelings through dance, which allows a therapist can tailor treatment interventions to address the needs of different populations.

​

(DMT) is also a uniquely effective mode of psychotherapy for the treatment of PTSD and other effects of abuse and trauma.  Coupled with the presence of the mirroring effects of horses, people can experience transformative healing and powerful epiphanies. Trauma leaves its imprint on both mind and body and because DMT uses movement as the primary means of assessment and communication, the body is not merely addressed in therapy but actually given a voice. Memories that may be too difficult to express verbally can be shared through movement and dissociated feelings, previously unknown, can be identified as they arise in the body.  In addition, horses will reflect stories.

 

Because of its active intervention methods, DMT is often the treatment of choice for traumatized children whose brain development, nervous systems and externalized behavior are altered by traumatic experiences.

BREATHWORK SESSION / CIRCLES

Breathwork is one of the purest and most effective tools to heal and resolve trauma, release stress and tension, and awaken and embody your vital life energy and creative potential. It works with the ancient practice of circular, connected breathing that has been used in cultures around the world, for thousands of years, for healing and attaining higher states of consciousness.

​

In a breathing circle, experience a transmodal approach to breathwork that integrate spiritual healing, voice dialogue and spiritual /family constellations to support the reorganization of the entire self  and character at the level of the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual. The aim of our work is gain access to repressed aspects of self and make allies of them.

​

Breathwork  sessions can be done on an individual or group basis. In a breathing circle, sessions are held in groups of at most 10 people and this is a powerful way to move energy and transform life using the energy of the field. According to quantum physics, there is the intersubjective field, which forms when groups come together. It is also a way for people new to breathe to be introduced to the work.

 

The breathing circles will go anywhere from 90 minutes – 2 hours. The session will be accompanied by music and in some cases live music where will journey together as one on the wings of breath.

Group sessions provide the power of the group breathing together with the intention of healing, releasing, growth, recharging, understanding and acceptance of self and what is. As the group drops into their session together, energy builds, and a sense of individuality can soften and connection can deepen. One person can support another energetically to relax and let go. 

​

Individual sessions offer you one on one support and the undivided attention that allows you to unravel your patterns and limitations at a genetic level. The session lasts approximately 90 minutes and we will breathe for at least 60 minutes. The session involves intention setting, breathing, spiritual healing and integration. The emphasis is on increasing awareness of the present moment and allowing what is most important to reveal itself.

​

Every session is different, and your experience can vary widely. Emotions, thoughts, and memories stored in the body often reveal themselves as they move out of the system. Heightened states of clarity, bliss, forgiveness, and gratitude are common. With the group sessions, it is also common for the group energy to open up portals to other planes of consciousness as everyone brings in their energy. 

​

After the session, breathers are invited to share with the group as they feel called. Sharing the breathwork experience aids integration, and often brings awareness of what happened to a deeper level. It is a heart opening and empowering experience to witness each other’s process and see that you are not alone.

​

Reiki Treatment

REIKI TREATMENT

Experience a Reiki healing session that will induce deep relaxation, reduce stress, assist in the body's natural healing processes, and develop emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being. 

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that simulates your body’s natural healing abilities. During a reiki session, the practitioner places their hands directly on you or just above you and it is based the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive.

​

Reiki treats the whole person including the physical body, emotions, mind and spirit and a treatment feels like a glowing radiance and warmth flowing though your body. Beneficial effects include deep relaxation, feelings of peace, security and well being.  It also helps to relieve pain, anxiety, stress and fatigue. It is a complementary alternative health approach and does not cure diseases. Instead it is a way to manage symptoms and improve overall well-being. Learn More.

A typical reiki session lasts anywhere from 15 minutes to 90 minutes. During the first meeting, you will have an introduction to the treatment and discuss your intentions and what you would like to focus on.

Traditional Indian Drums

MUSIC CIRCLE

Join us for an afternoon of exquisite music where we connect to ourselves and each other in a music circle. With a wide array of musical instruments like drums, bells, singing balls, chimes, guitar, piano, percussions, we will take the group on an inner and outer journey journey of connection through spontaneous  rhythmical songs that incorporate storytelling.  During the circle, we will build synergy as the group connects on the deeper level exploring verbal and non-verbal communication, ability to adapt to changing situations, creative thinking and ingenuity. 

​

We weave together a unique approach to mindfulness, connection and presence in a fun and creative environment where groups can come together using music and rhythm to facilitate connection to self, to others and to nature. We host music circles for groups as small as 5 people to about 15 people and circles last about 2 hours. We can also incorporate music circles into team building events to promote team cohesion and improve communication and creativity.
